KIHOI supplies tapered roller bearings for repair, maintenance, distribution, and industrial sourcing. Model, suffix, quantity, packing, and lead time are confirmed by quotation.

What Is a Tapered Roller Bearing?

A tapered roller bearing uses conical rollers running between a conical inner ring (the cone) and a conical outer ring (the cup). The tapered geometry means the bearing can carry combined radial and axial loads simultaneously — something deep groove ball bearings can only do within limits.

The rollers make line contact with the raceways instead of point contact, which gives tapered roller bearings a much higher load capacity for their size than ball bearings. This makes them the standard choice for automotive wheel hubs, gearboxes, differentials, and heavy machinery where both radial and thrust forces are present.

Because the cone and cup are separable, tapered roller bearings are also easy to mount and disassemble. They are usually adjusted in pairs — the axial play is set at installation by adjusting one bearing against the other.

30200, 30300, and 32200 Series at a Glance

KIHOI stocks the three most common metric tapered roller series. All dimensions follow ISO 355:2007 boundary standards, so each model is directly interchangeable with the equivalent SKF, FAG, NSK, NTN, or Timken designation.

30200 Series — The Workhorse

The 30200 series is a metric tapered roller bearing with a moderate contact angle, designed to handle combined radial and axial loads in standard industrial applications. The separable cone and cup simplify mounting and disassembly. Common uses include automotive wheel hubs, industrial gearboxes, and machine tool spindles.

30300 Series — Higher Axial Capacity

The 30300 series features a steeper contact angle than the 30200 series, providing higher axial load capacity for the same bore size. It is the right choice where thrust loads dominate — for example, bevel gear sets, vertical shaft arrangements, and pinion support positions.

32200 Series — Heavy-Duty Cross-Section

The 32200 series has a wider cross-section than the 30200 series, increasing load capacity in the same bore size. It is commonly found in heavy truck wheel ends and industrial gearboxes where the extra roller length provides a meaningful margin over a 30200 of the same bore.

Timken-Style Designations

Tapered roller bearings are frequently specified using Timken-style part numbers, which are not always identical to the ISO metric designation. For example, a KIHOI 30205 carries the Timken designation 30205, but other sizes may differ (Timken 205 is the inch-series equivalent of metric 30205). Always confirm the cone and cup assembly requirement — Timken references may identify a cone, cup, or complete set. See the Timken bearing cross reference for the interchange method.

How to Order

  1. Find your model in the directory below, or search by part number.
  2. Open the model page and confirm bore, OD, width, and contact angle.
  3. For automotive and machinery applications, note the shaft and housing fit and whether you need a matched pair.
  4. Send quantity and destination country through the quotation form.

KIHOI confirms price, packing, and lead time — typically with a low minimum order quantity. Every model page includes a specification table, brand cross-references with verification sources, and a quick quotation form pre-filled with the model number.
